SP Counselling Service offers placements to trainee counsellors and psychotherapists, who are dedicated to providing high quality support to people in the community.

All placement students must be enrolled on a BACP, UKCP or BABCP accredited course and we ask for a commitment of 3 client sessions per week for a minimum of one year.

We also ask that you provide evidence of professional indemnity insurance, a clear DBS check and evidence of your external supervision arrangements. 

​

In return for your commitment we offer  trainees a highly professional and supportive placement in which to develop their counselling career. We uphold excellent clinical standards, and cultivate an environment for growth and ethical practice.

We also offer free monthly group supervision.

​

All clients will be assessed by a qualified therapist prior to accessing the service and only clients experiencing mild/ moderate difficulties will be deemed suitable for placement students.
